One of the most rewarding relationships our firm has built in the 50 years since we started has been our partnership with the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC).
Sizemore Group has worked with the ARC for more than two decades and has been the standby on-call planner/architect for the past six years. In fact, we’ve worked with ARC on over 30 projects as both the on-call planner/architect and on a contract basis through the ARC’s Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP) to plan and develop town centers throughout the region.
One of our first projects with ARC’s on-call service was the development of an arts and culture master plan for the city of Fairburn. Since then, we have had the honor of being tapped to support a wide range of important endeavors falling under the ARC’s Community Development Assistance Program (CDAP), from downtown overlay rewrites to stormwater management strategies.
We’ve also been engaged with ARC’s LINK program for leaders to explore and share excellence in development from around the world and we’ve participated in programs such as ARC’s Regional Leadership Initiative (RLI) and the Arts Leaders of Metro Atlanta (ALMA) course.
With the soaring success of Smyrna’s downtown district under our belts, accompanied by a series of award-winning LCI projects tackled by our very own director of planning, Deanna Murphy, the stage was set for Sizemore Group to take the reins as a leader in planning and developing LCIs in the region, taking on as many as three new LCIs a year. The ARC relationship was pivotal in parlaying that expertise to serve local governments around the region.
