Stockbridge First United Methodist Church Master Plan and Design

Project Location: Stockbridge, Georgia

Project Scope: 30,000 gsf $3.6 million

The goal was to update the master plan and provide a new sanctuary to replace one that had suffered fire damage.

The final solution includes a new two-story building that connects the sanctuary with the lower-level existing preschool and fellowship building while providing a strong presence on the street. The new sanctuary will initially seat 450 persons and can expand to accommodate 800 through the use of a unique solution that involves only the relocation of the choir without changing the exterior walls.

In addition to the new worship area, there are 13 new classrooms and new administrative space.

A new bell tower punctuates the design. Materials are a combination of brick to match the existing brick and EIFS at the higher walls for better economy.
