The Archdiocese of Atlanta hired Sizemore Group Architects and Planners to design a new 1,200 seat Narthex, Nave and Sanctuary for St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Woodstock, GA. The project features a blend of traditional and modern design to enhance both the spiritual and communal functions of the church. It was important to the Architect and the Parish that the new expansion look, feel and operate as a “House of God”. This was accomplished by blending a traditional crucifix form with an open central Altar layout, building on both the communal and sacred functions of the church structure.
