The Medline LCI was a planning study aimed at creating a health, vibrant commercial district in the burgeoning Medline district of Dekalb County. With strong development pressure and an active and concerned residential community unsure of the impacts of new development, a unique consensus driven process was necessary.

To build consensus among Dekalb County officials and staff, property owners, and residents, Sizemore Group hosted a ½ day design workshop at Masala Indian Cuisine, a local Indian restaurant in the cultural center of the Medline Community. During this workshop, tactical demonstration projects were created to represent greenspace size and performance. The workshop was followed by a voluntary group bike ride to explore recommended trail connections.
