The Jimmy Carter Boulevard Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) seeks to preserve and enhance the multi-cultural identity of this gateway corridor while providing more accessible, walkable, and transit options to create an attractive and safe environment for residents, visitors, and businesses in the area.

Key strategies include a phased streetscape concept that brands this corridor as Gwinnett’s International Gateway with improved pedestrian access, beautification, and street adjacent amenities; redevelopment of key sites to enhance the growth and economic vitality of the study area were identified and conceptual design developed; and placemaking strategies, such as restaurant crawls, bus tours, and art are recommended to further provide a sense of place and attract redevelopment.
