The goal of this project was to maximize the development of the existing First Congregational Church campus while emphasizing and articulating influential and historic people and its surrounding context. We created a sense of place by enhancing the educational, economic and cultural background of the existing church environment.

By designing the church campus around a 21st century model for community, the new design builds a sense of possibility for the church’s future.

The existing church will become a new community center developed on its existing surface parking lot. The residential tower above the parking deck would include a portion of affordable housing.
