Kennesaw State University Bagwell Classroom Building
Project Location: Kennesaw, Georgia
Project Scope: 82,900 sf $15 million
Completion Date: 2014
This facility is an expansion to the College of Education. It houses classrooms, offces and the Literary Center. Located north of the existing facility, with its main entrance facing the quad, the building creates an edge along a key pedestrian path. It is clad in brick and incorporates the use of materials in the adjacent buildings. The interior treatment focused on lighting, openness and an intentional use of colors and finishes. A ‘playful’ spirit was provided in key spaces geared toward teaching for young children.

“It has been a distinct pleasure to work with Sizemore Group on the design of the Bagwell College of Education Classroom Building. From the very onset of the project, we were impressed with the time, effort and care the Sizemore design team gave to the creation of our building. Each iteration of drawings reflected Sizemore’s ability to patiently and carefully listen to our ideas, creatively expand upon them and offer possibilities beyond our imagination.”
Dr. Arlinda Eaton, Dean, Bagwell College of Education, Kennesaw State University
